Located on a deep infill lot, this upcoming classic colonial will be just a short walk to the vibrant downtown of Bentonville Arkansas. The owner’s loved the idea of creating a historically based home that fit in with the traditional architecture of the neighborhood, yet could live in a modern way for their family. The plan was developed around a 2-story mass with a large and welcoming front porch, and a center-hall which includes a door out the back that leads to the rear yard and fills the home with cool cross-breezes. The Kitchen, Dining, and Living Rooms are oriented to the side yard, and include a wall of windows and doors which open to a deep veranda. Outdoor storage is accomplished in a small folly type outbuilding near the garage, featuring carriage doors, a voluminous ceiling, and dovecotes.
