Terra House
Scroll to viewElevated above the shore of Lake Minnetonka, this modern home for a young family capitalizes on the expansive views of the lake while also providing private spaces for the family to retreat to. The simple material palette of stone, wood, and glass permits the house to be at times opaque and at other times transparent depending on the function of the rooms inside. The meandering floor plan allows the house to gather light and views from every room, while also providing a series of partially enclosed courtyards that shelter the occupants from neighbors and from the lake.
