Jeff Murphy
President / Director of Design
The son of a construction laborer — Jeff learned his strong work ethic from his Irish father and his easy-going personality from his German mother. He began drawing houses at the age of six, although most of them were being run over by monster trucks. Intrigued by building and design, Jeff attended art and architecture classes in San Diego and Minneapolis. After working for an architectural firm in Wayzata, Minnesota for eleven years, Jeff (along with his wife Jill) established Murphy & Co. in 2003. Passionate about timeless architecture, he is a member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, as well as other leadership and educational groups that help him define the company’s vision. Jeff is a regular at crossfit and often may be found riding his mountain bike or carving up a lake with his 3 daughters and wife Jill as a family of wakesurfers. Jeff loves skiing fast and fast cars. He can quote any line from an 80’s movie, frequents hip-hop and pop concerts with his daughters, and cracks all of us up with his dry humor. It is his staid, quiet calm and remarkable attention to the finest details along with his sublime sophistication that are in stark contrast to his prankster inner child. Jeff is serious about architecture, and that is about it. He is truly a kid at heart.

Jill Murphy
Vice President
Since she can’t even draw stick people (self-admitted), she is the “machine behind the scene” at Murphy and Co. Jill excels at business development, systems development, team development, and acts as our chief of finance. She continues to expand her leadership and business skills through her work with a business coach and regular attendance at professional seminars and educational outlets, both nationally and internationally. She loves to see people advance within the firm and succeed with their dreams. Travel & family are Jill’s inspirations, which is evidenced by her wall full of kids and travel adventure pictures. Jill dedicates herself to being completely engaged in the lives of her three college aged daughters while successfully running our business and managing Jeff. Somehow, she manages to throw down some fitness classes and a yoga practice. We are amazed by her.

T.J. Majdecki, Associate AIA
Partner / Lead Designer
T.J. attended the University of Minnesota where he received his Bachelor of Architecture, then moved to Greenwich Connecticut where he honed his skill set working on resorts, five star hotels, and historic-based residences for award-winning firms. A continuing apprentice in classically-styled architecture, T.J. can be found wide awake in his Linden Hills home at 2 am consumed with solving a design challenge. A foodie and Whiskey buff, TJ is our go-to for where to eat and what to eat in any city. On the weekends, TJ and his wife like to take in a spin class and get to an awful lot of live music concerts. He loves spending time with his son, teaching him to be an adventurous gourmand as well as designing and constructing homes from Legos.

Dan Demeules, AIA
Partner / Lead Designer
Dan received both his undergraduate and Masters of Architecture degrees from Tulane University in Louisiana and his MBA from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management. After receiving his Masters of Architecture, he worked for a firm in Washington State, then became a business liaison in Monterrey, Mexico for an architectural steel company where he also honed his salsa tasting skills. Our tallest guy in the office, Dan loves his almost equally as large Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. Multi-talented, Dan can design, compose construction drawings, create 3d work, develop systems, and provide shade for small children. Dan, his wife, and three young sons enjoy spending time at their farm house in the country. Dan is all about the laid-back comforts of a worn flannel and a cold beer, at the same time artistically inspired by an ornate Corinthian column, a French Palais or the Surrealist works of Salvador Dahli. He is a registered architect in the States of Minnesota and Idaho, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Blake Solberg
Lead Designer
Graduating with his Masters of Architecture degree from Drury University in 2016, Blake made his way back to his home state of Minnesota, eventually becoming part of the Murphy and Co team. Always within reach of a pencil and paper, Blake hand draws everything he can – details, elevations, and even cats. These drawings help define the artistic nature of our firm and serve as an exciting keepsake for our clients (well, maybe not the cats). When he is not drawing and designing, he can be found enjoying everything Minneapolis has to offer, listening to Carly Rae Jepsen, and spending weekends with his friends and family.

Patrick Nelson
Project Manager / Lead CAD
Patrick is not only lightning quick with a mouse, he is our original team member. Joining us in 2004, Patrick excels at all phases of a project, and is as versatile as a white shirt. He excels at managing projects while providing thorough, high-touch correspondence with clients and vendors. His engineering of the infrastructure inside the walls of a home is extraordinarily beautiful, thoughtful, and sound. His CAD drawings are works of art. Outside of the office, Patrick plays year-round competitive soccer several nights a week. He loves a good craft beer, spending time with his wife Nickie, their young daughter, and their labradoodle Lola. A music aficionado, Patrick has been playing guitar for eight years yet doesn’t know any songs.

Tony Mills
Project Manager / Lead CAD
A zen master of details and thoroughness, Tony studied both Structural Engineering & Computer Science at the University of Minnesota along with additional architectural studies thereafter. Having joined Murphy & Co. in 2005, Tony’s 20+ years in the business have proven a great asset to our team. Tony literally built his current family home and fell off the roof doing so. Therefore, his advice to our clients is to leave the building up to the experts. In his free time, Tony and his wife can be found at all of their three kids’ sporting events at the same time. We think they’re cloned. Tony is a 15-year veteran as a setter for both indoor and outdoor men’s sand volleyball teams. He has a genius eye behind the camera and is an avid duck, pheasant and deer hunter. He is the current reigning champion of The Murphy & Co. Games.

Jeff Schneider
Project Manager / Lead CAD
Jeff’s 31 years of experience in high-end residential means that there’s nothing he can’t conquer, except maybe the urge of drawing with a T-square. Proficient with any phase of a project, Jeff’s outstanding technical abilities are a wonderful match to his laid back and constantly-joking personality. But Jeff takes his work very seriously, and tirelessly researches new construction methods, CAD drawing techniques, and ever-evolving product specifics, all to help ensure top-notch experiences for our clients. A family man at heart, Jeff has been married to his wife Marla for 28 years, and has 2 daughters who encourage him to bust out dance floor moves and other antics Jeff may or may not be proud of. In his personal time, Jeff enjoys all sorts of video games, chanting SKOL! at Vikings games, and going to local breweries (even though he’s not that fond of beer).

Nick Seneczko
Visual Illustrator / CAD Technician
Nick is our go-to guy when it comes to assisting our Project Managers and Design team with a wide variety of tasks. After starting his schooling pursuing a degree in Construction Management in Illinois, Nick transitioned to his current path of Architecture at the U of M, graduating this fall with a Bachelor’s Degree. This follows his father’s footsteps, who is also a practicing Architect in the Chicago area (which also explains why Nick can’t get enough deep dish pizza). The combo of construction knowledge and design is evident watching Nick build on his many LEGO architecture collections. In his spare time, he can be found playing or watching hockey (Gophers and Rangers rule!), listening to his vinyl collection and attending concerts, or cracking us up quoting lines from “The Office”.

Parker Kenning
CAD Technician
Parker is our newest team member and will be graduating this spring from Dunwoody. He feels just at ease on a computer as he does playing cribbage, and he is already gaining loads of knowledge working closely with our project managers assisting in construction documents. In his spare time, he loves to hang out with family & friends, hunt, fish, ski, run, and gorge himself on Texas Roadhouse bread. Oh, and pretend he’s good at golf (isn’t that most of us though?). We look forward to Parker helping our team and clients develop their new home into something truly special.

Dawn Lund
Office Administrator
You may know Dawn as the friendly person that answers our phone, but what you may not know is that Dawn is an accomplished cage fighter. Well, not really, but she can certainly handle herself hunting and fishing in the Minnesota outdoors or genuinely rough camping near Steamboat, Colorado with her husband and two sons. Dawn wears many hats, including bookkeeping, client communication, and helping build the company’s systems. Dawn is an avid runner which she deems necessary to keep up with her boys who are both competitive runners. Her heart is as a missionary in Haiti and dreams that one day she will live that life full-time. Or, own an ice cream shop.
